Could DSA Be the Beginning of USSA?

Most of the world thought the final blow to socialism and communism occured when the Soviet Union fell in 1991. However, China and a few other authoritarian nations maintained their grip on their people by relying on a regional context for the oppressive system. A few other governments resorted to a version of socialism which they called democratic socialism. This deceptively-named concept gained a lone but outspoken proponent in America who became Senator Bernie Sanders 20 years ago. Back then, I would smirk at any speculation that our great freedom-loving nation could ever entertain the radical system of socialism. We conservative patriots all stood idle as, in just two decades, leftists began electing self-described “democratic socialists” to the county’s highest city and state offices. It wasn’t just crazy Bernie anymore. The fight for the soul of America is upon us. Let’s take a closer look at just how much of a threat this “democratic socialist” movement is.

First, we must understand that this “new” far-left faction of the Democratic Party is not new at all. It is socialism plain and simple–right out of playbook of Karl Marx, the father of socialism. Placing the adjective “democratic” in the label just makes it easier for Americans to swallow. Columnist Bradley R. Gitz, Ph.D, recently wrote that there can never be “…something called ‘democratic socialism’ (as in the Democratic Socialists of America, DSA). The term is an oxymoron because the two elements–socialism and democracy–don’t go together.” He further says, “Socialism, properly defined, means state ownership of the means of production. And there has never been a state with ownership of the means of production that was also a democracy.” And socialism has never been successful–anywhere.

Socialism is the economic arm of communist dictatorships. Marx saw socialism and communism inextricably linked with socialism being a first step to communism after capitalism is overthrown. So, dispite the lies by advocates of democratic socialism in America, socialism, by any name, and communism are one and the same and interchangeable. Today’s socialism is, by design, tomorrow’s communism. For the first time in our history, we are electing socialists to powerful positions who would like to see the United States of America become the United Socialist States of America (USSA).

Pardon a little levity here, but this quip that you are likely familiar with is the best comparison that I have seen for the world’s opposing governing systems:

  • Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one cow and gives it to your neighbor.
  • Communism: You have two cows. The government takes both cows, and they may give you some milk if you behave.
  • Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

DSA’s website contains their platform adopted last month. It includes scrapping the U.S. Senate, abolishing the carceral (prison) forces of the capitalist state, defunding the Department of War, amnesty for all immigrants, replacing the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress, and voting rights for all non-citizens. This is just a portion of the platform on which Zohran Mamdani, New York CIty Mayor, and six DSA state congressmen got elected. Dozens of other DSA members have been elected to city councils and local offices around the country. Three additional DSA members running for the U.S. Congress have won their democratic primaries in blue states and are likely to see victory in November. Sitting congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex and Rashida Tlaib are DSA Democrats. DSA is no longer a fringe group. It appears to be in driver’s seat of the present Democratic Party. Who could have even imagined this 20 years ago?

The greatest threat to America in 2026 is not our foreign adversaries but rather the rapidly rising power of domestic socialists and, by extension, the Democratic Party, which is supporting their bizarre and dangerous behavior. Socialist indoctrination by our secondary schools and colleges, watering down of morals and cultural norms, and lack of Christian involvement in the political system have led us to this point in our history.

Typically, only about 1/3 of Christian registered votors vote in mid-term elections. Many historians and theologians have concluded that the failure of churches and individual Christians to actively resist the rise of Nazism was one of the significant factors that allowed the regime to consolidate power in Germany. If just 75% of all professing Christians voted with their traditional values in the November general election, the socialist movement in America would be completely irradicated. Aren’t your children and grandchildren worth that effort? Not one conservative with freedom-loving, patriotic, capitalist values should skip the polls this November. If you are not registered to vote, register now! Please share these critical concerns with your friends and loved ones.

  1. Yet, there is one thing that cannot be hidden: in all the years of the wall, the flow of refugees has gone in only one direction. Only from East to West. We hear of many people who have risked their lives to escape from the East. But we never hear of anyone trying to escape to the East.” Ronald Reagan on Berlin Wall.

  2. Oh boy, here we go, some classic fearmongering in the form of the Red Scare…

The real assessment of capitalism in America is: You don’t own cows because they’re too expensive, but you do work for a billionaire that owns a few. Your hard work pays you almost a living wage, while the billionaire continues to get richer off of your hard labor.

    1. Jason, not at all, because any perception of fascism is either from lack of understanding the term and its history or from misinformation that constantly circulates. What some people are misinterpreting as fascism is simply an appropriate response to the dangerous socialist movement and agenda in our country.

      1. You really betray your biases with this answer. You’re a clear example of someone that ignores all manner of wrong, as long as they espouse your same political beliefs. You try to stoke fear and hate to achieve your political goals. Be better. Christ calls you to that.

      2. Your refusal to acknowledge and disavow the abhorrent views of people like Nick Fuentes and Jake Lang really speaks volumes. One can only conclude you don’t disagree with their views. Either you disagree with their views and you should vocally and firmly oppose them or you support them. Both men are facists, racists, and White Christian Nationalists. So which is it, Terry? Do you agree or disagree with their views? If you agree or disagree, why?

      3. ‘Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act’ – Dietrich Bonhoeffer

‘Nonaction is a kind of action.  Omission is directly opposed to justice…because it is nonfulfillment of a good of virtue but only under the aspect of what is due, which pertains to justice’ – Thomas Aquinas

Ignoring the evil in your own party isn’t just foolish, it’s sinful. By not condemning it, you become part of it. If you were truly motivated by the teachings of Christ, you would condemn those in your party that have subverted the Gospel you claim to follow, rather than excusing, dismissing, and ignoring it.

  3. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and thought-provoking article. Whether every reader agrees with all of your conclusions or not, your central message is clear: freedom, moral responsibility, and active citizenship should never be taken for granted. I especially appreciate your reminder that Christians should not remain passive when they believe the future of their nation is at stake. History teaches us that ideas shape cultures, and cultures shape nations. As believers, our first allegiance is to Christ, and we should seek wisdom, pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1–2), stand for truth with humility, and engage society with both conviction and love. Thank you for encouraging meaningful discussion on an important subject. May God grant wisdom, discernment, and peace to America and to every nation. Blessings!

    1. Please make all comments at least sensible. If you mean promoting capitalism over Christ, be serious. Christ and socialism/communism in the same sentence is blasphemy. Socialist/communist premiers throughout the world are non-Christians if not atheists. How many DSA devoted Jesus followers can you name? Further responses are limited to serious thinking.
