Grand Scale Spiritual Warfare in America

Today, America is divided more than at any other time since the Civil War. Meanwhile, the world is engaged in protracted wars and conflicts on several fronts. Billions of people around the globe are placing their hope–their only chance of survival–on a perceived strong and stable United States that is actually unraveling. What is happening in America is too irrational and bizarre to be anything but unleased spiritual warfare. Satan knows that, as America goes, so goes the world.

With every succeeding newscast, the mindset and behavior of tens of milllions of Americans demonstrate flourishing insanity. We are getting a daily overdose of lawlessness bordering on anarchy. Misguided political leaders at every level fill our screens with provocative hate speech and calls for disobeying laws and law enforcement. They invoke mayhem. They support criminals and berate crime victims. Protestors and rioters chant slogans and carry signs that show a lack of even a basic knowledge of social and political issues. They only know what they learn from liberal social media and biased mainstream news. They reject proven civil processes and governance in favor of rebellion and violence.

This didn’t happen overnight. Our spiritual enemy is strategic and patient. It began in the late 20th century with a national movement away from biblical morality and respect for authority. But our society digressed into an exponential freefall in family values and civility in 2015 when the highest court in the land legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. My blog post at that time predicted that this single ruling would cast a dark satanic cloud over America that would rapidly move us into deeper separation from God’s protection and blessings. Soon came the transgender focus with children and adolescents in hormonal therapy and subjection to physical mutilation. The sports realm forced females to compete with males in their own sports programs. Showers and locker rooms became co-ed.

Established laws were ignored. Throughout the Biben Administration, our borders were wide open with an estimated 20 million illegal immigrants entering our country mostly unvetted. Many of those who invaded every state were felons from their countries of origin who have continued violent crimes to include human trafficking, rape, and murder.

America has overspent like there is no tomorrow, leaving future generations to pay the bill. Our national debt has more than doubled in the last 10 years and will soon surpass $40 trillion. Most of the borrowed funds have gone to entitlements to individuals and interest on the debt itself (Yes, we are going into debt to pay interest on our debt!).

The only explanation for America, which for over two centuries touted itself as a “Christian nation,” falling so abruptly into such an ungodly culture is our nationwide acceptance of Satan’s influence. His foot-in-the-door of our national character has evolved to a bold entry through the door we have opened widely. This spiritual warfare between good and evil is waging in the lives of American citizens across our land. Law and order is no longer a priority for many liberal cities, and entire blue states have declared themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants. Again, many of these immigrants are hardened, convicted criminals. State and local law enforcement officers are prohibited from assisting lawful federal law enforcement operations. Arrested dangerous perpetrators are being released by the courts immediately. Generally, our nation of laws has become a nation of complete chaos. However, recognition of this spiritual attack is not an excuse for retreat. It is still our sacred responsibility to fight the rebellion.

Thankfully, there is a current surging counter attack in this spiritual war. It is an evangelical revival movement of the greatest magnitude in decades. Pockets of revival in schools and colleges were gaining notice as Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point organization surfaced. I believe Kirk’s assassination was a literal turning point in the nation’s spiritual struggle. However, as Christian momentum builds, the evil deceiver is pulling out all the stops.

The spiritual enemy is irate and has turned up the heat. Hateful behavior, obscene talk and action, totally illogical rhetoric, and the popularity of incompetant, ignorant so-called leaders can be observed at every turn. And these traits are being condemned by few and celebrated by many.

For godly people with rational minds and hearts to prevail, the darkness that dominates our nation and world at present must be overcome. If it continues or worsens, I must assume we are ushering in the end-times tribulation period described in the Bible. We are presently witnessing almost all the biblical harbingers. It wouldn’t take much today to trigger a new world order and a one-world leader–the immediate precursor for the tribulation.

The last words of the Bible are: “He (Jesus) who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” (Revelation 22:20-21 NIV)

  1. The cognitive dissonance in this post is palpable. Zero mention of January 6, 2021. Zero mention of Melissa Hortman. Zero mention of Renee Nicole Good. Zero mention of the multiple countries we’ve bombed in the last year. Zero mention of Trump’s stated goal of taking Venezuela for its natural resources. Zero mention of his threats against other nations, allies or otherwise.

When will you wake up to the fact that if we as a nation continue down the path the right wants us to, conquering Cuba, annexing Greenland, rounding up citizens and non-citizens alike, etc., that we have become 1930s Germany?

Charlie Kirk was someone who preached and spread anti-Christian and anti-Christ messages of fear and hate.

When you see a protest happening, whether it’s on the streets of America, Iran, Venezuela, wherever, ask yourself where would the Middle Eastern, dark-skinned savior I claim to serve be? Would he be on the side of someone who uses violence to intimidate? Would he be on the side of shooting someone fleeing in the head? Would he be on the side of rounding thousands of Christians for the express purpose of creating fear and intimidation? Would he be on the side that is violating the natural rights of any group?

The darkness is not in the nation, the darkness is in the church. We as American Christians have turned a blind eye for far too long to the rottenness that is present in the church. When the evangelical church votes overwhelmingly for a man that has credible claims of sexual assault against him, is credibly linked to the worst pedophile known in modern history, and claims that the only law he is accountable to is his own personal morality, of which he has none, we as the church have opened the door to the darkness. Until the church repents of its sins and returns to the teachings of Christ, we will continue to see a descent into darkness.

    1. You sir, are a great example of exactly what Terry was alluding to in his blog concerning the hatful and misguided people in our country. You take events and turn them around 180° to suit and fit your hatful agenda with outright lies, and falsehoods. Your TDS along with your out right hatred for the American way has filled you with such hatred and illogical premises that you and your ilk ARE the problem that Terry was alluding to in his blog.

  2. I disagree with this—politically, factually, and theologically.

Christianity does not teach us to explain social change by blaming out-groups, calling our neighbors satanic, or declaring political opponents enemies of God. That is not biblical faith; it is fear dressed up as religion.

Jesus never commanded His followers to seize political power, enforce morality through the state, or frame cultural disagreement as spiritual warfare against fellow citizens. He taught humility, truth, compassion, service, and love of neighbor—including those we disagree with, those outside our faith, and those we believe are wrong. The moment Christianity becomes a weapon rather than a witness, it stops being Christian.

Scripture repeatedly warns against exactly what this movement embraces: pride, false certainty, scapegoating, and the misuse of God’s name to justify anger and control. The Pharisees believed they were defending righteousness too—and Christ condemned them for it.

Blaming same-sex marriage, immigrants, or vulnerable minorities for America’s problems ignores Christ’s central message and replaces it with politics. The New Testament never instructs Christians to “win” culture wars; it instructs them to love sacrificially, pursue justice, care for the poor, welcome the stranger, speak truth without hatred, and live in a way that draws others to God—not repels them.

What is happening on much of the religious right is not revival. It is idolatry of power, nationalism masquerading as faith, and the elevation of political identity above Christ’s teachings. When Christianity becomes obsessed with dominance, punishment, and enemies, it has already drifted from the Gospel.

Faith is strongest when it is confident enough to coexist in a pluralistic society without fear. Christianity spread through persuasion and example—not coercion, panic, or declarations of the end times. If our faith requires exaggeration, demonization, and constant outrage to survive, then the problem isn’t the culture—it’s the theology.

  3. Sam is absolutely correct. In choosing Trump over Christian principles, Christians in America have lost their way. Trump is not a Cyrus figure, he’s a Barabbas figure. He’s someone that American religious people have chosen over the savior of all mankind.

Please, Terry, Reagan, anyone, explain to me how what we are seeing from this current administration is fulfilling what Christ said was the fulfillment of all the law: loving God and loving others. Please explain to me, clearly and concisely, how this compares to Matthew 25:31-46.

    1. Jay, each of my blog posts are published only after considerable thought, research, and prayer. I am 78 years old and have closely followed American issues of society, politics, Christianity, and culture since President Kennedy. I do not keep my blog online to provide a platform for endless debate, but rather to provide a counter position to the worst moral and cultural condition I have experienced in this nation in my lifetime. I always invite comments, but do not tolerate unsubstantiated and redundant replies. I approved your initial comments on January 13 immediately after my post. I felt I should also approve Reagan’s comments in opposition to yours. However, after your second and third response on the same day, I elected to not include them, since they were redundant, inaccurate hyperbole. My posts, which I pay to host and manage, are not a platform for anyone to just sound off.

However, since I allowed Reagan and Sam to contribute, and your fourth response was related to theirs, I allowed it. But I feel I must respond to it, especially since you asked me to please explain our position according to specific examples.

I am not pleased with President Trump’s personality and overall character. I concede he is egotistical and sometimes borders on narcissism. But, I consider him one of the best presidents, if not the best, in my lifetime. I fully support the way he has boldly reversed the abysmal policies and actions of President Biden. Biden almost ruined America with the invasion of an estimated 18 million illegal immigrants, many of whom were violent offenders, his aggressive support of transgenders, same-sex marriages, opposition to religious freedom, celebration of homosexuality, abortion support, unhinged spending, the Afghanistan debacle, just as a few examples. The Bible has many examples of God using flawed leaders to accomplish His purposes. Your mention of Cyrus is a good example. Trump has, in one year, stopped several wars, is making progress on Israel and Ukraine, has closed our wide open borders, has brought significant industry back to the U.S., is reining in devastating inflation, has cut taxes for the working class, has drastically reduced the illegal drug cartel activity, is cutting unthinkable waste and fraud, and I’m running out of listing space.

It boggles my mind that you can’t even celebrate the initial signs of Christian revival in America. And your condemnation of Charlie Kirk–wow! You lost what little credibility you had with me in that statement. God has done more through Kirk’s impact on our country than with anyone in decades. Have you even paid any attention to the Turning Point movement for family values.

I take your comment on Matthew 25:31-46 as condoning support for the millions of illegal immigrants sneaking and contriving their entry into our country, a country that readily invites immigrants to enter in accordance with our laws and policies. No nation has a more welcoming process for legal immigration than America. Why is it un-Christian to oppose letting foreigners break our laws when we have laws to accommodate reasonable requests? If loving others means welcoming criminals into our neighborhoods, schools, and welfare programs, then I don’t understand God’s biblically highlighted desire for order and fairness.

If you want to continue to comment on my blog posts, I welcome well thought-out, researched, and common sense thoughts. Otherwise, your responses will be rejected.

  4. Absolutely right, Terry. Finally someone brave enough to say what’s really going on: every complex social, economic, and political problem in America can be traced back to Satan, gay marriage in 2015, and cable news that isn’t Fox. Cities are lawless hellscapes, immigrants are all violent criminals, protesters are brainwashed zombies, and the nation collapsed the moment people I don’t know were allowed to get married. It’s not policy, history, or human behavior — it’s demons. Very efficient explanation, honestly.

Thankfully, the solution is clear: share Facebook posts, blame Biben, declare end times whenever we lose cultural ground, and call it a revival. Jesus is returning any second now — presumably to congratulate us for yelling about locker rooms and immigration numbers we heard once on TV. Please like, comment, and share before Satan refreshes the algorithm.

Clearly, that Jay guy is the problem, probably a demoncrat wolf in sheep’s clothing.
