America’s Archilles Heel

One of the caravans of illegal immigrants in Mexico headed to the American border during the Biden Administration

The illegal immigration crisis of recent years has been the worst assault on Americans in our lifetime–worse than 9/11 or COVID. There are 18.6 million illegal aliens in the U.S. You will be shocked at how much you are paying in taxes to support these infiltrators. Illegal immigration is a key link in the movement toward socialism in our country. Let’s review the massive impact this criminal activity is having and its support by the Democratic Party.

The Cost

I’ve done a little numbers crunching for you. The 18.6 million illegal immigrants within our borders is an extensively researched estimate by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). The economic impact of this 5.5% of our total population is currently $151 billion net per year according to FAIR. The “net” is calculated because the annual gross government expenditure on illegal immigrants is $182 billion, but the illegals supposedly contribute $31 billion per year in taxes, leaving $151 billion in net yearly costs. With our present population of 342 million, it is costing each man, woman, and child in America $441 per year in taxes to support illegal immigrants. Since only about half of Americans pay taxes (163 million), that amounts to $925 per tax payer, per year. Since the average family unit in America consists of 3.15 persons, the average tax-paying family pays $2,914 in taxes each year to pay the bill for the 18.6 million people who are within our borders illegally. Bottom line: multiply the number of total people in your household by $925, and that is how much you are paying in taxes each year for those in our country who are not allowed by law to be here.

The taxes we pay subsidize the illegals in a number of ways. Our federal and state governments have decided these millions of criminal trespassers will be provided government food subsidy payments, discounted housing, legal assistance, and use of almost all government public services. They receive emergency medical treatment through Medicaid. Their children are educated in our public schools and access our school meal programs. Federal, state, and local governments pay millions of dollars for law enforcement dealing with illegal immigrants. U.S. government agencies estimate the cost of investigating, apprehending, and removing a single illegal immigrant is $10,900 to $17,000.

The Threat

Although most of these illegals are not homeless or committing heinous crimes, they are all criminals. They all entered our country purposely and illegally. Most have taken jobs from Americans under false pretences. More importantly, many are horrendous criminals. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says that over 13,000 of them have been convicted of murder in their countries of origin. So, there are foreign murderers among us by the thousands. Hardly a day goes by without a breaking news story of another homicide or violent crime by an illegal immigrant. There have been over 500 violent crimes by illegal immigrants so far in 2025. Human trafficking is at its highest rate ever in America, and most of it is coming through our national borders. Recently, two deadly semi-truck and car accidents have revealed that thousands of commercial truckers licenses have been issued to illegal immigrants who speak no English and cannot read road signs. The Trump administration has essentially stopped the wide-open borders that had been inviting virtually unchallenged passage to thousands daily under the previous administration. But the multiple millions of unscreened invaders who are already in our cities and rural areas across our land will create agonizing domestic problems and spiraling costs for years to come.

The Question

With that statistical backdrop of America’s societal landscape, how can any sane person side with the Democratic Party and the leftists? The liberal left half of our nation supports and protects these criminal immigrants with a vengeance. What possible explanation is there for their vehement hate speech and often violent attacks defending what is an obvious blight on our country? Why do they rage against law enforcement that is simply performing their sworn duty according to democratically established laws?

The Answer

I believe there are two related answers to these conundrums. First, the rising young Democratic liberals have largely become radical socialists bent on destroying democracy, capitalism, freedom, and the traditional American way of life. Their vision is a socialist America with the eventual evolution to communism. The strategy to such a coup begins with creating anarchy, disregarding moral standards, demonizing capitalism, deemphasizing religion, broading their base by diluting society with maximum immigration, and indoctrinating our nation’s youth in marxism. We need to look no further for evidence of this decay than the anti-ICE riots, the government shutdown, federal judge injunctions, and socialist Mamdani’s election as mayor of the largest city in the U.S. The other associated answer lies in their hatred of President Trump. America was trending to the left until a majority of its awakened citizens rose up in last November’s election and inflicted heavy damage on the leftist socialism movement plot. For the past year, the Democrats have demonstrated only one major objective–to quash everything Republican and President Trump in particular. They know their plan cannot succeed with Trump in the White House. They must render him ineffective in order to progress. There is no other rationale to their destructive behavior.

The Hope

Hope for America is only in God’s mercy and grace along with conservative patriotic action in opposing the unraveling of democracy by the Democrat radicals. Don’t view each Democratic offence in isolation; view them all as a master plan to make America the pathway to socialism in the Western Hemisphere. Apathy is no longer an option for conservatives. Illegal immigrants must be held accountable for their invasion, and the House and Senate majority must be strengthened in 2026. It’s your move!

Mission Impossible President

After 738 days, the final 20 living Hamas hostages are home! And the entire world is giving America’s president the well-deserved credit for it. Furthermore, on the periphery of the celebrations around the world are the promising signs of a broader peace among most of the Arab nations and Israel. President Trump’s peace plan may be the catalyst for a positive transformation of epic proportions in the Middle East and Western Asia.

As soon as Israel became an independent nation in 1948, it was plagued by intense opposition from surrounding nations. Within hours of the British release of their claim to Israel, the nations of Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria invaded the new country, which started the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. After the war, unrest continued, constantly fomented by the Arab nations. Blockaids of Israel threatened the Jews with starvation. The Six Day War in 1967 handed devastating defeats to Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq. The Yom Kippur War of 1973 was in response to Egyptian and Syrian forces attacking Israel in the Sinai and Golan Heights. That fierce fighting lasted less than a month when the aggressors declared a cease fire. Between all these wars, Israel constantly suffered skirmishes, territorial incursions, random invasions, and terrorist strikes. The massacre of October 7, 2023, when Hamas savagely murdered 1200 civilians and kidnapped 251 Israelis crossed Israel’s red line as they vowed to destroy their enemies completely. During the two-year war, Israel was constantly attacked by missiles, rockets, and drones from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

Seventy-seven years of international hatred expressed through wide-spread anti-semitism and the continuous barrage of attacks from Arab-Islamic nations would seemingly never cease. Every U.S. president of that period–14 of them–made attemps to secure peace in the region. Only one succeeded. It took him all of ten months, during which time he also settled wars in seven other sites. Without question, President Donald Trump has the rare wisdom and skill to influence world leaders to attain peace and prosperity out of war and ruin. It is rather mysterious, but I think I know some of the reasons for his success.

There is no other head of state like President Trump. I’m not sure there ever has been. He has a passion for peace. That passion is manifested in his agressive pursuit of tranquility abroad and law and order in America. He has little tolerance or patience with bureaucracy and foot-dragging. He pushes the limits to get things done, and quickly. He dispises traditional politics and nontransparent civil dialogue. He says what he thinks and means what he says. He is a consumate risk-taker. He is not reluctant to make decisions that could backfire if there will be great reward for success. He has a wry sense of humor that often knocks his opposition off balance. It is frenquently flustering and can turn political posturing to his advantage. His behavior is unpredictible. This keeps his opponents and the world off-guard and unable to assume his response to anything. His unconventional approach to high stakes diplomacy is his strength. These personal traits, backed up by the overwhelming power of our great nation, make him one of history’s most impactful American presidents and world leaders.

With such attributes, though, come many criticisms. It is difficult not to focus on his repulsive side. Yet, his phenomenally positive policies and actions cannot be denied and have radically changed the world for the better. An honest assessment of pre-Trump versus post-Trump America has to acknowledge and celebrate his improvements in quality of life globally.

I will admit that I don’t like Donald Trump. I cringe at his egotism and borderline narcissism. I wince at his speech. I don’t even like his mannerisms. But I realize fully that his ability to elevate American life, regain America’s respect, and generally make the world a better place is dependent on his unorthodox and often offensive character. His rather eccentric personal traits are what draw other leaders to him. I have come to accept him for what he is and welcome what he is doing for my friends and family as well as my country and the entire world.

I have to challenge those who would say that, because he is not exactly a godly man, we should reject his leadership. The Bible has several examples of God using less-than-godly leaders to the advantage of His people. Sixth century BC King Cyrus of Persia was a pagan. Yet, he released the Israelites from Babylonian exile and provided them excessive supplies and protection as they returned to their promised land. Two hundred years earlier, the prophet, Isaiah, wrote that God said the future Cyrus would be “My anointed one” who would free the Hebrew captives. God used Cyrus to bless His own people. Can God not use President Trump, flaws and all, to make America great again and the world a better place?

The Trump derangement syndrome will continue, because there are radical Democrat liberals whose world view is to condemn everything Trump does. My hope is that more will begin to see beyond his personality and demeanor to the breakthroughs he is making for the betterment of all concerned. Let’s tolerate the man and joy in the results.

So, How Is America Really Doing?

Quandaries over riots in major cities, gender and LGBTQ+, chaos, tariffs, inflation, antisemitism, Israel, Iran nukes, Ukraine, China–wait, didn’t we vote in November to fix all this and Make America Great Again? Yet, the evening mainstream news has never been more depressing. But how is America really doing? I believe the short answer is, pretty well, actually. It takes time to undo the damage foisted on our nation from the Obama and Biden administrations. Sandwiched in between them, Trump made some sweeping corrections in his first term. But he was constantly beaten down by hateful Democratic attacks and conspiracies including two senseless impeachments. Now, early in the present administration, many positive things are happening that are being suppressed by the mainstream media. Let’s take a look at what the Trump team is pulling out of that red cap.

Democrats are screaming that Trump caused the present violent riots by illegally abducting and deporting innocent immigrants. They say his calling up the military to help quell the “peaceful” rioting is unconstitutional. Almost all the media are supporting the Democratic disinformation and lies just as they did in the George Floyd riots. Except, this time, Trump is clamping down on the insurrectionists before they spiral completely out of control. Federal law and order action is finally prevailing.

Democrats are decrying the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants, many of whom are hardened criminals, and demanding the courts stop military involvement. Deportation of illegal immigrants is not only a legal obligation of the federal government, it was a mandate of the overwhelming majority of voters in the last presidential election. Use of the military in this national emergency situation is undeniably warrented and constitutional as an appeals court just declared. The Insurrection Act of 1807 authorizes the use of the military in domestic emergencies as determined by the president. The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 allows such military involvement only in support of law enforcement through crowd management, equipment, technology, and surveillance. Posse Comitatus is Latin for “Power of the County,” meaning emergency assistance authorized by a government agency. Under these Acts, the military cannot arrest citizens or provide offensive support. The military assists and defends local law enforcement. Therefore, the truth is that the federal government has acted constitutionally in their rightful role and responsibility to protect Americans. And they are doing it swiftly before rioting causes more injury and destruction. That is the positive truth you won’t hear from the Democrats and the media.

The Democrats seem to consider the support and promotion of transgender and LBGTQ+ lifestyles as essential to the survival of the universe. This immoral, unbiblical, and reprehensible behavior is lauded by the Left and supported by “in your face” reporting 24/7 by the mainstream media. Thankfully, this burgeoning trend of support appears to have sharply reversed course after the January 20 inauguration. A Supreme Court finding recently banned transgenders from the military, the NCAA has disallowed biological men to compete in women’s college sports, and Trump’s executive order prevents participation of transgender athletes in all women’s sports. The Trump administration will not be acknowledging June Pride Month in any way, and many corporations are withdrawing their promotions of LGBTQ+ products and services. In short, America’s support for transgender and LGBTQ+ issues is being deemphasized. That is a positive you won’t hear from the Democrats and the media.

Trump’s use of tariffs as an international trade incentive to level the world trade field is aggressively opposed by Democrats as devastating to our economy. They say prices and inflation will skyrocket. Yet, just days after the tariffs were imposed, dozens of national leaders came calling on Trump to negotiate fairer trade conditions. Furthermore, we are now over four months into the Trump tariff increases, and inflation is 2.4%, which is almost at the record low of 2.33%. Consumer prices of just about everything have declined since the tariffs were imposed. But you won’t hear Democrats or the media touting any of these newsworthy stats.

The antisemitism riots all over America and the killing and persecution of Jews have been rampant for months. The Biden and Obama administrations were soft and timid toward Israel’s arch enemy, Iran. Democrats vehemently condemned Trumps rejection of the flawed nuclear negotiations during his first term. Shortly after his last inauguration, Trump gave Iran an ultimation to negotiate a good-faith agreement which they declined. On June 11th, a 60-day deadline for Iran to negotiate the termination of nuclear weapons development expired. On June 12th, Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear development facilities and killed several top Iranian military leaders. The Democrats immediately blamed Trump for potentially causing an all-out regional war and putting Americans at risk. The news media followed the Democrats’ lead. Of course, the Left will never acknowledge the truth that the attack prevented Iran’s annihilation of Israel in a nuclear holocaust and possibly destruction of American forces. All Americans are much safer today with an impotent Iranian government.

The Ukraine and Russia crisis is a world dilemma. How do you deal with a thug dictator like Putin? We know that kowtowing to the Kremlin has never gotten us anywhere in this war. But the Biden administration, which allowed it to happen in the first place, has given into Putin’s schemes since the land-grab war began. It is obvious that only peace through strength will work here. Thankfully, we now have a president who is respected and feared by Putin. It will only be a matter of time until a negotiated settlement will be struck, although preceded by a lot of fireworks. The Democrats will continue to play Chicken Little, convincing many Americans that Trump is starting World War Three. Watch for the Democratic counter punches all over social media and the news media. We must resist the gaslighting while supporting the credible strategy of the Trump administration on this one, too.

As for China, President Xi will continue to rattle his sabre publicly, but privately, he realizes that, on January 20th, the playing field changed. He was no longer dealing with a weak American president. The Democrats, supported by the media, will cry wolf constantly, scaring Americans into thinking China is overtaking the U.S. in everything. It is important that Americans maintain a patriotic confidence in our great nation in these times. We must support our president and our military. Trump and Xi have a mutual respect for each other that creates a unique connection. China will stand at the red line and beat its chest, but it won’t cross that line as long as Trump is in office, and we don’t blink.

So, how is America really doing? Before last November, our future was dismal. Woke, meek, and leaderless, we were destined for irrelevance unless provedentially rescued. The election and the first six months of the Trump administration has been God’s intervention of grace and mercy to give our nation another chance to get it right. Although it may look depressingly dark, when you seek truth and look past the Democrats and the news media, your day will brighten. After years of decline, it appears we are doing better despite the naysayers.

The Great American Reset

I am ecstatic about the great American reset spreading across our nation. For several years, I had been in borderline depression and despair over the moral, economic, spiritual, and social death spiral of our culture. Our insane government had been fostering senseless laws, policies, and positions that had been destroying the very fabric of our society. But, apparently, the silent majority has awakened and is slamming on the brakes just before we plunge over a cliff.

In just the last two months, America has made the most dramatic cultural shift in its history. We have virtually stopped the invasion of our homeland by foreign criminals who were welcomed, protected, and funded by Democtratic politicians. Now, illegal immigration through our open borders is being replaced by aggresive deportation. We are shutting down the antics of the irrational “woke” crowd and returning to common sense. The gender dysphoria myth is being debunked by recognition that we are, of all things, either male or female as determined at birth. Hundreds of billions of waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending is being exposed and cut. Hundreds of thousands of government workers who have been absent from their work stations since COVID are being ordered to come to work or be fired. The abysmal condition of our education system is being transformed after a half-century of neglect. Our weakened military, fraught with social experimentation, is being revitalized for fighting wars. Speaking of wars, we are moving from unending international entanglements to great potential for peace around the world through a strong America. Conservatism, long being relegated to those over 50, is being embraced by young adults weary of failed liberalism.

From a spiritual perspective, we appear to be seeing the years of darkness dissipate with the dawn of rekindled faith. The last Administration seldom recognized the hand of God on this nation, and filthy, hateful public language was the norm rather than the exception. Government corruption was rampant. We are now seeing the name of God invoked freely throughout government-related activities and events. The entertainment world has been replete with unwholesome, anti-family content. But the recent trend of Christian-based films is growing exponentially to Hollywood’s chagrin. Public prayer is popular again. We may be on the threshold of another nationwide Great Awakening.

Meanwhile, the Democrats are whatching their absurd charades being rejected in favor of sensible and prudent strategies. They are in a constant state of panic and chaos. Let’s just pray and hope the liberal factions that have held a tight grip on our society will become enlightened and join the ranks of the rational. The future of our nation depends on it.

Most Americans agree that the catalyst of this rapid transformation is President Trump. Like him or hate him, I don’t see how anyone with an open mind can deny that America is headed in a better direction with him in the White House. As I have said in these posts before, I don’t always like the personality and character of our president. But I am convinced that he is the right person for leading us out of the cultural orbit we were in to a new and superior trajectory. Is he going about it like a bull in a china shop? Yes. But, a familiar saying applies here: “Desperate times call for desperate measures.” Jesus was perfect, and there was a time when He had to crack a whip and turn over some tables.

I’m more optimistic now about our country than I have been in years. I confess I had given up on ever seeing what I am seeing now. I believe God has heard the prayers of His people crying out for the strong, prosperous, and godly nation they once knew. He just may be giving us one more chance.

Impeachment Was the Epitome of Hypocrisy

Just when I had concluded that Congress couldn’t do anything more hypocritical than what I had already witnessed, they impeached the president…again! Forceful removal from national office is justified, but for many prominent Democrats rather than the president. Let’s review who is really guilty of inciting insurrection.

First, much of President Trump’s rhetoric at the rally on January 6th was unwise in my opinion. But, he never once urged the crowd to do anything illegal and certainly did not suggest engaging in violence or entering the Capitol building. He did not incite insurrection–period. He said, “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen.” He did not even organize the rally. It was organized by a non-profit group, Women for America First, and they invited him to speak. Yet, in the impeachment proceedings on Wednesday, the Democrats testified one after another that Trump “planned, organized, and directed the mob to violently storm the Capitol.” Anyone has the right to criticize the president’s words and actions prior to the riot, but no one has the right to blatantly lie about his words and actions. The fact is the votes to impeach were based on lies as was the case for the last impeachment. However, the truth is that several politicians should be removed from office.

Joe Biden said he would like to take Trump behind the gym and “beat the hell out of him.” Throughout his campaign, his silence regarding the unprecedented violence by radical leftists was his tacit approval and an invitation for the mobs to continue. Many lives were lost.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “I just don’t know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country. Maybe there will be.”

Vice President Elect Kamala Harris urged that, “Protesters should not let up.”

Congresswoman Maxine Waters urged her followers, “If you see anybody from (Trump’s) cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Senator Cory Booker said he wanted to punch the president.

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley said of Black Lives Matter, “There needs to be unrest in the streets.”

In large measure, Democratic rhetoric of this kind has incited radical leftists to conduct criminal insurrections across America.

In 2011, thousands of Democrat anarchists stormed the Wisconsin Capitol and occupied it for two weeks. The Democrat response: “This is what democracy looks like.”

In 2016, hundreds of BLM activists blocked interstate highways and violently accosted police, killing several. The Democrat response: “To assign the actions of one person to an entire movement is dangerous and irresponsible.”

In 2018, a mob stormed the Supreme Court building and pounded on the door yelling threats. The Democrat response: “It’s understandable.”

Last summer, in major cities across the country, groups of leftists marched in streets, set buildings on fire, looted businesses, assaulted innocent bystanders and police, killing several. The Democrat response: “These are mostly peaceful protests.”

Later, mobs seized several blocks of downtown Seattle for days declaring it an autonomous zone of self government. The Democrat response: “It’s a block party atmosphere.”

In August, a crazed mob attacked several prominent Republicans, including Senator Rand Paul, departing late night from the Republican Convention. DC police were told to stand down. The Democrat response: Silence.

Ignoring their own guilt, this Democratic Congress has doubled the number of impeachments in our nation’s history, this time without even a traditional inquiry and investigation. And only for political gain. The Democrats’ appeal for unity is totally hollow.

What Has Really Caused Racism in America?

Decrying everyone and everything associated with slavery, the Confederacy, and all things white and capitalist is ignoring the real cause of modern racism in America. The plight of African Americans today has little to do with antebellum America and the Civil War but everything to do with a more recent divisive cultural and economic shift.

I realize I’m going precariously out on a limb here, but I am compelled to offer what I believe has ignited the present racial unrest in America. The protesting, rioting, violence, and borderline anarchy is being blamed on centuries of oppression and lack of justice for black Americans. There has been a history of oppression and injustice. But that is only a small piece of the racism puzzle. What is missing is an unbiased view of this history.

Slavery is despicable. Every American should be ashamed of it. But in the minds and hearts of most 18th and 19th century Americans, it was an economic necessity–the way of life with a world history of thousands of years. Almost every nation on earth practiced slavery until a couple of centuries ago. Our founding fathers owned slaves, but they felt the moral obligation to craft a Constitution that guaranteed eventual liberty for all. And, just eight decades after the Revolutionary War, the US honored the Constitution’s intent by proclaiming emancipation for all slaves.

When the 15th Amendment gave blacks the right to vote in 1870, almost all of them registered Republican. Unfortunately, for the next several years, southern Democrats delayed and disrupted the rights of blacks in constant political battles with Republicans determined to institutionalize their blood-bought freedom. Despite the Democratic push-back, brilliant and tenacious blacks made major headway toward equality rising to public office, starting businesses, and leading industrial innovation. It was not until the mid-20th-century civil rights movement that the upward trend in quality of life for blacks began to reverse.

Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 fixed some remaining gaps in schooling and employment equality, the Act and the social movement surrounding it began the migration of blacks to the Democratic party sponsoring it. From that point forward, African Americans as a whole have regressed exponentially into poverty, unemployment, family breakup, discrimination, abortion, drugs, criminal activity, substandard education, poor health, and the list goes on. The Democratic response to this social and cultural degradation has for half a century been empty rhetoric, coddling at election time, pervasive welfare programs, forced busing, and affirmative action quotas. All of these moves have been disincentives for achievement and advancement. They have widened the socioeconomic gap between the races keeping the poor, poor with little opportunity for upward mobility.

For examples of the effect of political climate on race relations, look no further than the states and municipalities with the most racial turmoil. Almost all of them have been led by Democrats for years.

The last three years prior to the pandemic abruptly reversed the poverty trend as President Trump’s aggressive conservative policies produced the highest employment rate and best economic opportunity that most black Americans had ever experienced in their lifetimes. Sadly, though, when Covid-19 knocked the whole country on its keister, the short-lived gain was insufficient to suppress the pent-up frustration from decades of inequality and subjugation for blacks. The white on black police killings were just the fuse for what was ready to explode.

Therefore, the cancel-culture vandalism of monuments, denouncing of certain symbols, and endless demands for name changes are actions that fail to recognize the real problem. The misguided focus on slavery as blame for the current racial crisis is from one of two causes:

  • Little understanding of historical fact, or
  • Understanding but refusal to deal with historical fact

The answer to racism is a change of heart on the part of all Americans, black and white, to a genuine respect for all humans. It would require a reality check from everyone. Sadly, such a change is difficult and unlikely in a culture in which the vast majority of blacks is bound to one political philosophy and party–a party that promotes a twisted view of history and an assumption of black loyalty.

Trump May Be the Most Loving President Ever

Donald Trump

In the wake of the impeachment trial and all the accusations of hate personified in our president, the title of this post will seem preposterous to many. However, let’s zoom out from all the media and public rhetoric that constantly slam him and view what really drives him. We will see a president who loves the American people more than any of his predecessors have. Let’s take a look.

Certainly, the president does not endear himself to Americans by his over-inflated ego, his boisterous language, and his put-down of adversaries in speech and tweets. His disregard for tradition and the status quo has drawn the rabid ire of his political foes. Without a doubt, he offers a daily dish of opportunity for harsh criticism. Do we all wish he would dial it back? Absolutely. But it’s important that we see through his often impulsive and repulsive methodology and understand the underlying compassion in his purpose.

I believe evidence shows his pursuit of the presidency was not driven by ego enhancement and personal gratification as is widely believed. His concern for people’s problems and belief in his solutions were his motivation for leaving the comfortable billionaire life to lead the nation to prosperity. His three years in the White House have proven his unwavering fight for a better life for all Americans. He was convinced his business experience and economic philosophy would re-energize the nation’s economy, create jobs, and rectify the international trade imbalance. He also knew his experience would help restore our military’s credibility in defending our freedoms. He used his big-business confrontational negotiating acumen to bring China, Europe, Canada, and Mexico to the table for trade resets that benefit all Americans. His determination to drastically decrease crime and drug addiction in our country resulted in major reductions in illegal immigration. The judicial oppression and moral decay he observed in our liberal courts have been reversed by his appointments of unprecedented numbers of conservative judges. These and many more examples have convinced me that President Trump is not in this for personal gain, but for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to better the quality of life for all Americans.

If he’s so loving, why does he so often revert to words and actions that don’t fit most people’s definition of love? I have to go no further than Jesus to understand some of it. Now, don’t think I’m comparing Trump to Jesus. The president is far from divine. However, Jesus, the ultimate characterization of love for mankind, turned over tables and snapped a whip in the temple, dubbed the cultural leaders snakes, and even called his disciples fools. Yet all of Jesus’ harshness was for the ultimate loving purpose of attaining the best for all people.

I have observed 12 presidents in my lifetime and none has accomplished as much good for all Americans in his first term as President Donald Trump. This in spite of his incurring more vengeful opposition than any of the other 11. He has a rare knack for throwing off the opponents’ attacks and concentrating on the people’s needs.

President Trump’s bizarre actions and inflammatory words are sometimes attributable to his character and personality. More often, though, I believe they are theatrics and purposeful means to an end–unorthodox methods of producing the overall good for all concerned. He has never shown any tendency toward corruption but has rooted out corruption at every turn. He has never shown any desire for dictatorship but has supported freedom at every level. He has never shown any sinister motives but has outed many sinister plots of others. He has never shown any motivation but that which would elevate the standard of living for all Americans.

Unlike our view of other presidents and world leaders, our perception of this president  has to penetrate the surface to realize who he really is and what he values. His love for America and its people is clear in all he deems worth fighting for. He works feverishly to accomplish what will improve the safety and quality of life for those he loves, the American people. Isn’t that what we want in a president?

Impeachment Hearing Reality

impeachmenthearing1

I have avoided commenting on the impeachment because it has been so media saturated. However, after watching much of the first day of the televised hearing, I must make a few observations. Never in my life have I witnessed such a brazen attempt to invalidate the majority will of the people. True patriotic Americans must stand against this elitist liberal majority in Congress who are denying Democracy.

In 2016, Americans elected one of the most unusual candidates for president in our nation’s history. President Donald J. Trump won 57% to 43%. His victory so shocked most Democrats, many were talking impeachment before he even assumed office. Since his election in 2016, liberals have been obsessed with impeaching this duly elected president any way they can. When the two-year, over $25,000,000 Mueller investigation flopped, the desperate Dems had to come up with something else quickly to ensure he didn’t win a second term. The best they could do was to make something huge out of almost nothing in the president’s dealings with the president of Ukraine.

The problem Democrats and a scant few Republicans have with President Trump boils down to his unorthodox businessman approach to running this country. He is not playing by the norms of Washington and is a threat to the establishment, often called the “deep state.” America did something in 2016 that had never been done before. The majority got so fed up with Washington’s incompetence and lack of accountability, they opted for an outsider businessman who would bring fresh ideas to governing and would not be intimidated by the politically ensconced establishment.

That out-of-the-political-mainstream president America elected has produced the best economy in decades, strengthened the military, re-established our respect abroad, reassured domestic freedoms, streamlined governing processes, and refocused the nation’s priorities toward Christianity. He has without question kept his campaign promise to “make America great again.” Granted, these national advancements have come with some consternation involving many people’s concept of how the nation’s leader should behave. This is evident in the current impeachment debacle.

President Trump came to the White House as a wealthy business man, not a seasoned politician. Regarding the Ukraine issue, he stretched the political norm by engaging in personal, back-channel negotiations with another head of state in what might seem more like a business deal than a diplomatic action. Our president has acted in both domestic and international exchanges more out of business pragmatism than out of political expediency. This alternative diplomacy, celebrated by most conservatives, is being flagged by the liberals as bribery and extortion–a giant leap from reality. I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures from today’s Democrats.

The president had good reasons to pursue investigation of Ukraine’s past corrupt business dealings that have hurt the United States. The fact that his potential opponent, Vice President Biden as well as his son, were likely involved in some related shady activities added to his incentive to investigate. However, there is no law to prevent him from doing so. If anything was broken here, it was only precedent, not law. The substantive issue is whether the president withheld foreign aid approved by Congress for Ukraine in exchange for an investigation by that country–a so-called “quid pro quo.” Although, he obliquely implied to Ukraine’s president Zelensky that the aid would follow the commitment to an investigation involving the Bidens, the aid was delivered without such a commitment. The businessman Trump apparently used the aid temporarily as an incentive for Zelensky to investigate, but wisely never intended to make it a quid pro quo.

The Democrats’ problem is two-fold. First, they can’t get past the election loss that set back their liberal socialist agenda. Secondly, they just can’t stomach the undiplomatic maneuvering and the unconventional methods being used successfully by the president. Even though it is ultimately in the best interests of America, his methodology counters much of the tradition the establishment has learned to operate within. These changes in technique reduce the power of his opponents. How dare an outsider sit in the oval office and operate from a whole new paradigm! What they don’t seem to grasp is that the same majority that elected this “renegade” likes what he is doing and will vote for him again. The Democrats’ determination to take Trump down is only feeding the Republicans’ determination to give him a second term.

I predict the Democratic majority House will impeach President Trump regardless of how irrational that is. Then, the Senate impeachment trial will exonerate him leaving him in office for the rest of this term. The majority of Americans will be so disgusted with the Democrats, they will hand a landslide victory to the president next year. The Democrats’ unprecedented hatred for our president will be their demise.

The last three years of American politics have been a laughing stock for the entire world to see. Our political process resembles that of a third-world country. We should all be embarrassed. I sure am.

Memorial Day Dishonored by Washington Antics

PelosiSchumer

As a 24-year career veteran, on Memorial Day, I have always honored the Americans who sacrificed their lives in defense of their country. For years, I took pride in the way our nation memorialized those brave heroes. In the last few years, however, my Memorial Day has been clouded by thinking how disappointed these fallen warriors would have been in the antics in Washington that disrespect so much of what they died for. This year, particularly, I am deeply grieved over Washington’s foolishness.

Never in my life have I seen such foolhardiness as is being displayed by Democrats in both houses of Congress. Their objectives for undermining American values over recent decades were abruptly halted by the election of President Trump. Since that election, Democrats have been unhinged, in panic, and delirious from the shock of losing their leftest momentum. I doubt that any conservative expected such a rabid reaction.

Trump’s presidency had every potential of major progress in economic growth, immigration reform, tax reform, infrastructure enhancement, viable healthcare, Social Security resolution, racial reconciliation, balanced international trade, and international peace initiatives. Aside from a few notable victories, these anticipated advances have been stifled by the Democrats through endless accusations and investigations, spying on the administration, intransigence on almost all White House initiatives, and raging opposition to most presidential appointees. Now they are readying for impeachment proceedings with no impeachable offense.

By and large, the Democratic representatives and senators have spent two-and-a-half years spewing hatred, conniving, manipulating the media, obstructing, spying, and aggressively pursuing a four-year campaign cycle for 2020. They are acting as if their whole world were inside the DC beltway with no regard for the American general public. They apparently believe their very survival depends on removing President Trump from office. If it weren’t so damaging to our country, it would be hilarious just watching their comedy act. Everything they try blows up in their face, but instead of cooperating in bilateral efforts, they try some other farcical scheme. In my observation, there has never before been such idiocy on the hill.

So, this Memorial Day, I will do my best to concentrate on the purpose of the solemn day of remembrance. I will try to compartmentalize my thoughts and prayers surrounding those who paid the ultimate price for their country’s freedoms. They died for our freedoms and way of life, not for the insanity in Washington. I will do my best to ignore for one day those in Washington who are making a mockery of our government that those courageous men and women fought under.

Pray for a second term for President Trump and a Republican majority in both houses in 2020. We must stop this madness.
